Mary Baldwin is an inspirational nurse who has dedicated her 51 year-long nursing career to our hospitals. Her career started in 1967 at the age of 17 where she worked at Lostock Hall continuation hospital for a year before commencing her nurse training at Preston. In 1971, she qualified as a Registered General Nurse and began working at the Preston Infirmary until its closure in 1981 when she moved to the Royal Preston Hospital surgical unit as a staff nurse on night duty. In 2010, Mary retired for a grand total of 2 weeks before returning to work 2-3 nights per week on the surgical unit.
